I Am Not You
Yesterday has long since come and gone,
But today it still haunts my tomorrow.
And I can't change the past,
Erase what you did to me.
But I sure don't need your disease,
I am not you.
And I wont make those mistakes again,
You can't change me.
I am who I am,
And I will break free.
I am a healing stream,
Not your poisonous brew.
You wouldn't stand up for me,
But I won't fall to be like you.
Not when there's that one bright star in the sky,
My leading light and guiding hope.
The song inside your heart,
That you kept safe for me.
To play it back,
So I could remember me.
And to you my love,
I thank for that.
